Property records suggest that the sprawling estate, formerly named Janice Place, is worth approximately $22.5 million. In 2009, the pop star turned business magnate Rihanna paid 6.9 million dollars to purchase the property.

John Krasinski’s West Hollywood Home
Actor John Krasinski, well known for his role as Jim Halpert on The Office, owned this 1,300-square-foot starter house. As Krasinski prepared to move on to new endeavors following the conclusion of The Office, he listed his house for sale in 2009. Galaxy purchased the program from Spelling for $2.5 million after it was canceled. In 2017, the Encino house was put back on the market for nearly double its original price. For $4.5 million, Jones put it on the market. An outdoor kitchen and bar cabana with a chandelier has been added by Jones, according to the L.A. Times. The price increase is justified because the value of the walled and guarded property has nearly quadrupled under his possession.
Steve Wynn’s Las Vegas Mansion
According to the Los Angeles Times, Wynn has spent $16 million on upgrades to the large Las Vegas property he acquired. The residence features six bedrooms and ten bathrooms, and it is situated on 1.4 acres of property within a neighborhood that is not only guarded but also double-gated for added safety.
There is no surprise that the mansion is being marketed for a stunning $25 million, making it the most expensive property in Las Vegas to be listed by 2020. This one-of-a-kind residence may be found on a lot that is more than 9,000 square feet in size. Between the years 1996 and 2017, Fraser called this home.
During that time, he witnessed his spectacular ascent to fame as a result of the popularity of The Mummy franchise. In addition, there was a twelve-stall barn situated on the property. It and another of their properties have been on the market since 2013.
The country couple initially listed their home for $20 million, but they have had to reduce their asking price several times since then. Knowing more about Leiper’s Fork, the town where the CMT couple lived, might help explain why they had difficulty selling such a large estate.
Joey Lawrence’s Mansion – Encino, California
Joey Lawrence, a former Blossom star, acquired a Spanish mansion in Encino, California, about two decades ago and has been stranded there since. In 2010, he put the house on the market for $3.2 million, but it didn’t sell. Multiple saunas, a movie theater, and a lavish master suite were among the many amenities offered by the mansion’s six bedrooms and nine and a half baths.
Lawrence started slashing the price to $2.3 million again and over again. In 1994, he paid $1.2 million for it; now, it’s on the market for $900,000 less than it was. This time, it was for $2.249 million. He hoped he’d have more luck. Lawrence hasn’t had much luck selling his home yet, but even at the present price, he won’t be incurring a loss.

For $44.8 million, the property is being sought after by former NBC personality David Gregory. Besides the main house, there are two guest cottages on the property, a private beach, a pond with a bridge, and a deepwater dock. The house features six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, as well as a massive screened-in porch. Real estate company Corcoran took his house off the market after hearing about the 2017 scandal.
Helen Hunt’s Personally-Designed Mansion
Helen Hunt, who was nominated for an Academy Award, was directly involved in overseeing and designing the renovation of this breathtaking mansion in the Hollywood Hills. Intriguingly, she never really resided in it at any point, despite the fact that the land had previously been owned by the famed and iconic Hollywood actor Errol Flynn.
In 1997, Hunt and her husband made the acquisition of the property, after which they demolished the remnants of the former estate that had been on the grounds. After being listed for sale with a price tag of about $9 million for some time, it is reported that a buyer has emerged to purchase it for a sum that is considerably less, specifically $8 million.
Steve Cohen’s Penthouse – New York City, New York

Since Cohen is an avid art collector, the Manhattan penthouse features an in-house art gallery. However, just a small portion of his collection is on display. The value of his collection, for which he is well-known for paying exorbitant prices, is estimated at $1 billion dollars. Additionally, there are five bedrooms and six bathrooms in the penthouse.

Charming Forge Mansion – Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania
Womelsdorf, Berks County, Pennsylvania, is home to the Forge Mansion, a beautiful Victorian mansion. The manor house, which dates back to the 1700s and features seven bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a wealth of personality, was constructed centuries ago. The home’s original location was on an iron forge, and it had previously functioned both as a dwelling and an office for the ironmaster.
In 1763, Baron William Henry Stiegel became the proprietor of the property, and under his watch, it was transformed into what it is today. Unfortunately, after living in it for more than two decades, the Baron was obliged to sell it at auction because his financial situation was so precarious. In 1994, the mansion underwent a meticulous renovation.
Mel Gibson’s Home – Malibu, California

There had been a $1 million reduction in the price of the property in eight months, which stood at $11.8 million as of November 2011. After withdrawing it from sale, Gibson waited until 2019 to re-list it on the market with the same initial asking price of 14.5 million dollars.
Stone-Walled Estate – Alpine, New Jersey
You’d be surprised to learn that this home, which has been on the market for decades, has deteriorated in value as well. Since it was built, the house has remained in the same family, and the buyer has put it on and taken it off the market several times. The Stone-Wall Mansion, on the other hand, has a plethora of conveniences.
A steel tycoon, Henry Clay Frick II, was the initial owner of the building, which was renamed in his honor. The listing price of this sixty-acre mansion has been dropping steadily. Richard Kurtz, the developer, places the blame on something considerably less supernatural: property taxes. Taxes, even at the lowered price of $32.9 million, will eat into anyone’s wallet.
Denise Richards’ Mansion – Calabasas, CA
Denise Richards began her career in the entertainment industry in 1989 as an actress and model. Since then, she has participated in a wide variety of endeavors and has amassed a fortune as a result. Nevertheless, a French Provincial Castle may be seen at 4720 Grosvenor Avenue in the city of Grosvenor. It was in 1926 that construction began on the castle, which has a total area of 3,281 square feet, five bedrooms, and five baths.
The price of the castle, which is presently up for sale, is $2.7 million. The owner of a shipping line, one of the enterprises that existed before modern-day corporations like FedEx, commissioned the construction of this castle because he desired to construct a house that resembled the estate that he had with his family in Croatia.
Billy Joel’s Mansion – Palm Beach, Florida
Since Billy Joel is such a prominent figure in popular culture, you would assume that there would be no shortage of people interested in purchasing the 10,000-square-foot estate he owns in Florida. Nevertheless, as you may have imagined, this is one home that simply would not move from its position. In 2015, the musician listed the mansion, which had eight bedrooms, on the market with an asking price of $20 million.
By the year 2018, the asking price had fallen to $16 million, and then it dropped again to $11 million. Even if Billy is ready to include the furnishings in the sale, the property just does not have the enchantment that potential purchasers are searching for.
Emily Blunt and John Krasinski’s Home – Brooklyn, New York
Both individually and as a pair, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are considered to be among the most desirable in Hollywood. The common man, if given the opportunity, would leap at the chance to live in one of their houses; yet, the common man does not have millions of dollars just lying about in the bank.
Back in 2017, the stars put their Brooklyn townhouse up for sale for $8 million, despite the fact that they had only paid $6 million for it the previous year. Even though the house in Park Slope is the stuff of which dreams are formed, it took them more than a year to eventually sell it even though it is the type of thing that people dream about.

Actually, before Eva, Tom Cruise called Eva’s house in Los Angeles home, and he was a renowned face in his own right. Not only is it totally isolated from the outside world, but it also has an excellent location that is just a short distance from Mulholland Drive.
Even though the estate had four bedrooms and was located in a star-studded neighborhood, it was not successful in attracting purchasers. After spending $14 million of her own money to purchase it, Eva ended up negotiating a price reduction to $9.8 million with the seller.
Alonzo Mourning’s Mansion – Miami, Florida
Fans of sports would jump at the chance to rub elbows with an NBA superstar like Alonzo Mourning, wouldn’t they? Back in 1996, the NBA superstar constructed the estate in Coconut Grove, Florida according to his own specifications.
Although Alonzo invested an amazing amount of time and resources into the home, he was only able to sell it for six million dollars in the year 2009. As a result, she listed the apartment for sale in 2018 for a price of $4.5 million.
The home was everything you could expect from Kirke, but perhaps that is why purchasers were a little hesitant to rush in and immediately purchase it. Even though the house was finally purchased, it was on the market for a longer period of time in comparison to properties that are typically for sale in the same location.
Rachel Ray’s Mansion – Southampton, New York
In 2017, popular television chef Rachel Ray put her house in Southampton, New York, up for sale, but her expectations of a speedy transaction were not met. It took her the better part of three years to eventually locate a buyer, but she was never offered the price that she had hoped for.
Midway through the year 2020, Ray sold the house that had three bedrooms and five bathrooms for $3.25 million, which was a significant decrease from the initial asking price. On the positive note, at least it was successful in the market!

Many young ladies are familiar with Kevin Jonas since he was one of the Jonas Brothers, but it isn’t all that he has to offer. Kevin has a wealth of knowledge in the field of real estate and has transacted the purchase and sale of a number of mansions throughout the course of his career.
After first putting his property in Montville, New Jersey up for sale in 2017. The celebrity didn’t spend much time in the property despite the fact that it was constructed by his very own firm and featured a stunning design. The vast estate was finally sold for less than the asking price of $2.5 million after being listed for sale for more than a year the second time it was put up for sale.
Kelly Clarkson’s Estate – Hendersonville, Tennessee
Kelly Clarkson is widely regarded as one of the most significant achievements to come out of the realm of reality television. Kelly has been attempting to sell rid of her massive 20,000-square-foot mansion in Hendersonville, Tennessee since 2017. The property is located in the city of Hendersonville.
With seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, this property is a significant undertaking for anyone who purchases it. It’s possible that this is the reason why the house is still up for sale. Since then, the price has been reduced from $8.75 million to $7.5 million as of May 2020, however there have been no takers for the property as of yet.
Chelsea Handler’s LA Estate – Los Angeles, California
When it comes to riches and celebrity, Chelsea Handler doesn’t hold any punches in her comedic monologues. In 2018, the straight-talking broadcaster and comedian didn’t play about when she put her Bel Air home on the market for a very respectable $11.5 million. She set the asking price for the property.
The contemporary home has an abundance of outdoor gathering space, which makes it the ideal abode for the elite of Los Angeles; but, there is something about it that has not yet hit the right chord. The asking price was reduced to $10.95 million after one entire year passed with no takers. As of the year 2020, the house has not yet found a new family to call it home.
Shaquille O’Neal’s Mansion – Windermere, Florida

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s Former Estate – Beverly Hills, California
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston had it all when it came to Hollywood couples. They got married in 2000, and not long after that, they purchased a remarkable estate in Beverly Hills that had 11,173 square feet of living space. Naturally, they added their own personal touches, such as a guest house and a tennis court, both of which contributed to an increase in the property’s worth.
For sale in 2019 after being sold to an executive following the breakup of the marriage. You may have thought that it would have sold like hot cakes in a famine, but unfortunately, that was not the case. One buyer has apparently placed the property up for sale again after waiting over a year to find the right fit.
Mel B’s LA Home – Los Angeles, California
Mel B, on the other hand, has experienced a significant decline in her fortune over the past several years, in contrast to the other members of the Spice Girls who have achieved tremendous success. Scary Spice and her now-ex-husband originally purchased their Los Angeles home, which spans 6,000 square feet, in 2014; however, they just listed it for sale in 2017.
Mel’s initial asking price was $9 million, however the price has now decreased significantly. At first, we had it appraised at $7.5 million. After sitting on the market for a total of two years, it was eventually reduced to the then-current price of $5.5 million and sold.
Pharrell’s Mansion – Beverly Hills, California
Fans were overjoyed when Pharrell put his multimillion-dollar property on the market earlier this year. But, on the other hand, the house with the 10 bedrooms seems more like the headquarters of a tech business than a warm and inviting family home. The celebrity first set the price at $16.95 million, but in the end, they were forced to negotiate a bit lower.
For $14 million in October 2020, the mansion attracted an interested party – but we’ll have to see if the deal really goes through. The futuristic mega house that Pharrell Williams is building for himself is now one of the most desirable homes on the market in Los Angeles.
Melanie Griffith’s Estate – Aspen, Colorado
For some people, having a ski chalet is a fantasy, but for Melanie Griffith, it’s a reality. The actress made a career decision after her 2015 divorce from Antonio Banderas. Her Aspen property, which is 7,300 square feet in size, sold for an eye-popping $10 million.
Real estate agents can encourage you to aim high, but Melanie actually ended up cutting the price by more than half to only $4.3 million. It’s a beautiful lodge with a lot of charm, but the buyers just weren’t interested. At some point in 2018, the property was finally sold, although at a significant loss.
Lori Loughlin’s Estate – Bel Air, California
Lori Loughlin was just another lucky actress with an exceptionally lovely home prior to the college admissions controversy that she is now embroiled in. Back in 2017, she and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, put their Bel Air mansion on the market for $35 million, although it wasn’t exactly a desirable piece of real estate at the time.
Even though the mansion and its breathtakingly beautiful grounds, which overlooked Bel Air’s illustrious Country Club, checked all the proper boxes, nobody was interested in purchasing it. In the end, the pair dropped the asking price to $18.75 million and sold the business to Justin Mateen, one of the co-founders of Tinder.
Renee Zellweger’s Childhood Home – Katy, Texas
Fans of the Bridget Jones series have the opportunity to own a piece of Hollywood history by purchasing the house where Renee Zellweger spent her youth in Katy, Texas. The home is a fascinating piece of real estate that has a lot to offer, despite the fact that it is in no way comparable to a mansion. In addition, it doesn’t come cheap, with a price tag of $699,000 when it hits the market.
The property has been on the market for a considerable amount of time despite having undergone major remodeling and providing ample land as well as ranch-style living quarters. Although she presumably owns enough property to keep her busy, it’s a wonder Renee doesn’t just buy it for nostalgia’s sake.
Rosie O’Donnell’s Mansion – New Jersey
In the year 2018, Rosie O’Donnell went on a buying and selling binge and put most of her properties up for sale, one of which was her house in New Jersey. The charming house is 5,167 square feet and was designed to give the impression that it was taken from the countryside in England. Perhaps this is the reason why it is still available for purchase.
Rosie’s initial asking price for the Saddle River property was $6.375 million, but she eventually settled on $5.995 million as the selling price. As of the year 2020, the house has not yet been sold, and Rosie has said that she would be happy to sell it at a loss so that she may finally put this ordeal behind her.
Johnny Depp’s Horse Farm – Lexington, Kentucky
Johnny Depp has a lot going on in his personal life, but during the past several years, he has also been attempting to cope with the burden of selling his horse farm. This has been a challenge for Johnny. Back in 2017, the famous Hollywood actor placed his Kentucky ranch up for sale with the initial asking price set at $3 million.
The mansion spans 5,944 square feet and features a total of 6 bedrooms in addition to the same number of bathrooms. The estate is situated on 41 acres of beautiful woods. The property remained unsold for several years despite being packed to the gills with Johnny Depp memorabilia while it was on the market.
Joe Pesci’s Manion – New Jersey
The fact that Joe Pesci’s estate in New Jersey looks like it was taken straight out of a gangster flick is not something that should come as a shock to the actor’s devoted followers. The enormous property enjoys a prestigious setting along the Jersey Shore, where it is tucked away in a cove. However, it is not exactly stealthy and stands out like a sore thumb in the crowd.
The actor initially planned to sell the home in 2019 for a price of $6.5 million, which would have made it the most expensive property along that stretch. Given Pesci’s image as a difficult person, it is not surprising that no one has stepped up to negotiate with him as of yet; yet, it is not hard to understand why!
George Strait’s Mansion – San Antonio, Texas
There’s no doubt that George Strait’s mansion is an impressive sight. With its sprawling gardens and luxurious interiors, it’s the perfect place to host a party or just relax in peace and quiet. So why has no one bought it yet? It could be that people are reluctant to spend so much money in the current climate, or maybe they’re just looking for something a bit different.
Whatever the reason, it’s a shame that such an amazing property is going to waste. Maybe someone will come along soon and snap it up. In the meantime, we can all enjoy aerial photos of this incredible estate.
Adam Lambert’s Mansion – Hollywood, California
Because of Adam Lambert’s performance as a Freddie Mercury impersonator for Queen, he has witnessed a meteoric rise in his net worth over the course of the past several years. Because of his recent success in the real estate market, he decided to put his two-story home in Los Angeles on the market in 2017 for a price of just under $4 million.
After some time, the asking price of the property with the 3,000 square feet was lowered to $3.35 million, and it wasn’t until the middle of the year 2020 that it was eventually sold for $2.92 million. Even though Lambert suffered a loss on the sale of this home of around $75,000, let’s be honest: when your net worth is as high as $22 million, who’s counting?
Eva Gabor’s Estate – Los Angeles, California
Eva Gabor called this spectacular home on Delfern Drive her own for the better part of two decades, right up to the year 1995, when she passed away. Following Gabor’s demise, the mansion was first put up for sale for a price of $2.1 million. In 2015, the property was put back on the market for $17 million after a series of upgrades by succeeding owners.
However, consumers did not rush out to purchase it in large numbers right once. The owners knocked down the price to $13 million before finally pulling out of the deal a few months later. In 2017, the home was put up for sale for the second time, this time for a price of $14 million; however, it was finally purchased by a new buyer and sold for $11 million in 2019.
Meghan Markle’s Former Estate – Los Angeles, California
Prior to becoming the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle had a career in the entertainment industry and was married to actor Trevor Engelson. Following the conclusion of their relationship, the property was listed for sale at a price of $1.7 million, although it was not immediately sold.
It was finally sold in January of 2020 for a price of $1.68 million, which is a long cry from the value of Windsor Castle or even her present rented house in Los Angeles. Eventually, the property was sold. Meghan has resided in a number of high-end residences over the past few years.
Beyonce and Jay-Z’s Mansion – Hamptons, New York
Because of how extravagant and pricey her way of life is, most people probably find the idea of living like Queen Bey to be an unattainable pipe dream. Although it is possible that the couple did not actually own this magnificent Hamptons house, they did rent it. In the year 3018, the Sandcastle was put up for sale, and the asking price was an eye-popping 18 million dollars.
The vast 12,000-square-foot property is not located on the water’s edge, but it does have a swimming pool, a movie theater, a baseball field, and even its very own rock climbing wall. In addition to it, there are separate guest quarters, tennis courts, and a half-pipe.
Mark Ruffalo’s Studio City Home
From 2004 until 2009, Marvel hero Mark Ruffalo and his family resided in this magnificent Los Angeles property, which Ruffalo sold in 2009 for more solitude and a more down-to-earth lifestyle. He was able to sell the house to none other than Zooey Deschanel, who stars in the television show New Girl.
The incredible home is a one-of-a-kind find in LA, thanks to its many windows and doors that go directly to the backyard and pool area. To provide seclusion for any celebrities who may be living, there is also a gated barrier around the entire property.
Queen Elizabeth’s Country House – Sandringham House
Queen Elizabeth II shocked her audience when she made the announcement in 1977 that the grounds of her much-loved country home would be open to the general public for the very first time in the annals of history. The grounds had previously been in possession of the British royal family for several generations.
Even though it is still one of her own properties to this day, the fact that it has been registered as a historic place gives the impression that its ownership may soon be up for grabs. In the year 1870, construction began on this spectacular estate that spans a large area. The most illustrious aspect of this location is that it is the final resting place of both George V and George VI.
Pierce Brosnan’s Malibu Home
Their oceanfront house will be put up for sale in late September of 2020 by Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Smith. They put the 12,500-square-foot property up for sale for $100 million, which is a significant increase over what they paid for the site when they first purchased it in the year 2000.
They spent $7.35 million to acquire the two parcels of property and then constructed their “dream house” on one of them so that they could bring up their two kids there. Brosnan and his wife have made the decision that they want to spend more time at their house in Hawaii. Thus, they have decided to market the complex for sale with Chris Cortazzo of Compass.

The mansion features fourteen bathrooms and seven bedrooms. Jenner acquired it for a really low price. The home was initially put up for sale in 2019 with a price tag of $55 million.
Following that, in April of that year, the price was reduced to $45.95 million. In August of 2019, the complex was finally finished being built, and Kylie was able to get it for $36.5 million. This indicates that the original seller of this luxury Los Angeles mansion clearly got the less desirable end of the deal.

A source in the real estate industry states that the property has a “very secluded” setting. In addition to its seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, it also features a tennis court, an infinity pool, and gorgeous grounds. According to the ad, Perry’s Malibu beachside property is located in one of the most “prestigious” neighborhoods in the city. From 2015 through 2018, the property belonged to Miley Cyrus, who managed a ranch and a horse stable there.
Initially, Miley’s 2018-2019 buyer planned to create an enormous new property, but those plans never materialized. A few weeks after purchasing her $36.5 million Holmby property, Kylie Jenner purchased the land. The new second plot will be intriguing to watch how she handles.

It was initially listed for $9.925 million, but it’s since been reduced to $8.995 million. Unfortunately, even with the price cut, there haven’t been any takers yet – and it’s easy to see why. The home is located in a gated community that’s known for being quite exclusive, and it comes with all sorts of high-end amenities.
Anthony Hopkins’ Malibu Home
In February of 2020, Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins plans to put his house on the market. There are five bedrooms and five bathrooms in this Malibu cliffside house. The building was constructed in the 1950s. Santiago Arana of The Agency has the property up for sale.
It is now for sale for $11.5 million, but there has been no news on whether or not anyone has expressed an interest in purchasing it. Views of Point Dume and Zuma Beach may be seen from the property. When the Woolsey fire scorched much of Malibu in 2018, it miraculously escaped damage. Only a little patch of lawn separates the house from the cliff on the estate’s acre of land.
Liam Payne’s Calabasas Home
Ex-One Direction member Liam Payne placed his Santa Monica Mountains property up for sale in 2019. Located on five acres of property, the 9,700-square-foot home has a price tag of $11.2 million. A private vineyard, recording studio, meditation gazebo, and pool are just some of the amenities on the estate’s extensive list of extras.
Compass’ Tomer Fridman and Hilton & Hyland’s Jonah Wilson joined Payne in marketing the property. Payne’s decision to return to the United Kingdom was the cause for the listing. In Brookwood, England, Payne now lives in a mansion. He’s been renting out his California property for $110,000 a month as he waits for it to sell.
Rob Lowe’s Santa Barbara Home
It was listed for $47 million in 2018 by Rob and Sheryl Lowe, who live in Montecito. In 2019, the price of the mansion was reduced from $45 million to $45.5 million because it was having difficulty selling. This ancient Montecito mansion ultimately sold for $13 million, and Lowe acquired two new homes beside it, each for $5.2 million.
The healthcare executive Jack McGinley and his wife Julie bought the Montecito house. There are twenty rooms in the 10,000-square-foot house, which sits on a 3.4-acre tract of ground. One of the mansion’s most notable features is its guest house which has a tennis court and a pool with koi ponds.
Aaron Spelling’s Massive Manor
It’s not surprising that Aaron Spelling, the late film producer with a fortune estimated at $600 million, could afford such opulent digs. His California mansion, which was 56,500 square feet, was only one of several extravagant residences he owned. There were fourteen and twenty-seven bedrooms in all. One of the most fascinating aspects of this mansion was the fact that it had specific rooms for just about everything.
For everything from wrapping presents to cutting flowers to storing a doll collection, there were dedicated spaces throughout the house. For $200 million, Spelling put the house on the market in 2016. Although the asking price was $80 million less than the final sale price, it nevertheless set a new record for the most expensive home ever sold in Los Angeles.
Celine Dion’s Water Wonderland
This “Water Wonderland” on Jupiter Island belongs to Celine Dion. A whole water park and three swimming pools are part of the singer’s residence. It took until 2019 for Dion to sell her $72.5 million mansion for a fraction of its original asking price. The purchaser paid $28 million for it, less than a third of the initial purchase price.
It contained a total of fourteen bathrooms, thirteen bedrooms, and a kitchen. The Atlantic Ocean was visible from the waterpark’s own beach. Guesthouse and pavilions were also located on the 5-and-1/2 acre estate. In keeping with the Bahamian manner, the entire property, from the waterpark to the main house, was built from start to finish.
Christie Brinklie’s Hamptons Home
Christie Brinkley’s Hamptons estate, with its tower and surrounding woodland, appears like something out of a storybook. With a $10 million purchase, Brinkley was able to sell the property for $17.999 million, significantly over the price she paid for it. After putting it on the market in 2010 and taking it off the market in 2011, Brinkley re-listed it in 2016.
Built in 1843, the 5,500-square-foot estate is one of the largest in the area. Everything about this historic mansion is done in a historical style from the 1800s, including the five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and three stories of living space.
Cindy Crawfords Malibu Mansion
Despite having numerous Malibu homes, Cindy Crawford and her husband, businessman Rande Gerber, were able to collect the greatest money for their 5,300-square-foot property with 5.5 bathrooms and four bedrooms. It had a casual beach atmosphere about it, with natural materials, white walls, and huge windows that looked out over the ocean.
Terraces, a tennis court, a pool, and a wraparound deck are just some of the outdoor facilities available. It was listed in 2016 with an asking price of $60 million by Crawford and Gerber, the owners at the time. In 2017, the price was reduced to $50 million, and then to $45 million in 2018, the year the house was sold for its final selling price.
Demi Moore’s Triplex
This 7,000-square-foot Upper West Side triplex is located in San Remo. It is located at the top of the south tower of the building and has had an on-and-off relationship with the market. Demi Moore bought the triplex in 1990 with her ex-husband Bruce Willis. In April of 2015, she made an attempt to sell it for $75 million.
No one was interested, so Moore lowered the price to $50 million. For $45 million, an unidentified trust acquired the triplex, which was put back on the market in 2019 for $50 million. The penthouse features a total of fourteen rooms, five of which are en-suite. Cherry wood was used for the finish, and a Southwestern Mission design was used.
George and Amal Clooney’s Italian Villa
According to a story in People Magazine, George and Amal Clooney are reportedly giving some thought to the possibility of selling their property in Lake Como, Italy. Clooney first acquired the estate in 2002 as a holiday residence. The vacation home, also called Villa Oleandra, can be found in a sleepy village. It was constructed sometime in the 1700s.
The actor originally planned to sell Ville Oleandra in 2010, but he ultimately changed his mind and pulled the property off the market. He paid $10 million for it, but there’s a chance that he might sell it for $100 million if he placed it back on the market today. The Clooneys divide their time between their mansion in England, which cost $13 million, and their home in Italy.
Shaun White’s Malibu Home
For nearly $11 million in January 2020, Olympic athlete Shaun White listed his Malibu home on the market. The house, which is 2,164 square feet, was built in 1948 and is in excellent condition. For nearly $11 million in January 2020, Olympic athlete Shaun White listed his Malibu home on the market. The house, which is 2,164 square feet, was built in 1948 and is in excellent condition. Listing agent Aaron Kirman, a star of the reality show Listing Impossible, described the property as “meticulously rebuilt” with White’s “utmost care” paid to every aspect of the renovation.
Christina Aguilera’s Mansion
You might think of this residence as a highly musical palace. Rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon sold Christina Aguilera their 10,000-square-foot house. The mansion was first appraised at a value of $13.5 million. After that, Aguilera made the decision to put it up for sale, but she was surprised to discover that, despite the gorgeous Spanish-style features of the property, it wasn’t selling quite as well as she had hoped.
The house was first sold in 2012, but it didn’t sell for another two years. Due to the low selling price of the property, Aguilera was forced to take a loss of $2 million on the investment. A year later, Aguilera made a new $10 million property purchase in Beverly Hills, suggesting that she had moved on from the incident.
Keith Richards’ City Home
Rock star Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones discovered that the words to the band’s song are accurate: you can’t always get what it is that you want. Richards’s primary objective was to conclude a speedy transaction for the purchase of his Greenwich Village flat. The apartment had a total living space of 2,700 square feet and was situated in one of the most desirable areas of New York City.
Despite all of these benefits, the apartment was on the market for a full two years. At long last, Richards was successful in selling the double penthouse he owned. However, he was only able to sell it for $9 million, resulting in a loss of $1.5 million from the time he bought it in 2014.
Jeff Bridges’ Montecito Home
In 2015, the legendary actor Jeff Bridges, who starred in films such as The Big Lebowski and The Last Picture Show, put his property in Montecito up for sale with an asking price of $30 million. That was a sum that was far greater than the initial amount that Bridges paid for it in 1994, which was $7 million. The vast estate featured luxuries such as vineyards, hiking paths, fruit trees, and an art studio, among other facilities.
In addition, the Mediterranean-style home had a guest house that was 1,800 square feet, a second guest house, a recording studio, a movie theater, and a pond that guests could swim in. Bridges finally sold the home after two years on the market for a price of $15.93 million, which was about half of the asking price.
Sean Combs’ Penthouse
In addition to being a musician, Sean Combs is also a billionaire businessman. When it came to his Midtown penthouse, though, he discovered that business dealings with Diddy do not always work out to his advantage, bucking the pattern that is normally observed. In 2012, he listed it for sale at an asking price of $8.5 million. It took him several years and multiple price cuts before he eventually found a buyer who was interested in the property.
Combs made the most recent reduction to the asking price in 2016, bringing it down to $6.5 million. The home was ultimately sold for $5.7 million in 2017, after having been on the market for a total of five long years.
Tom Cruise’s Colorado House
There has only been one re-listing of Tom Cruise’s $59 million mansion since 2014. With hiking paths, horse stables, and a private helipad, the property covers approximately 300 acres. It is about twelve minutes away from the historic resort town of Telluride. Mission Impossible star is having a hard time finding a buyer for this house.
The land that Cruise owns, which spans 10,000 square feet, is breathtaking in its natural beauty. It features seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and a lot of pricey hardwood throughout the inside. In 2016, Tom Cruise withdrew the house from sale on the real estate market; however, it is unknown whether or not he would do so in the future.
Calvin Klein’s Chic Home
There is nothing more stylish than Calvin Klein. For $13.5 million, the fashion designer sold his simple seaside mansion in Miami Beach. The refuge was on the market for more than two years until a buyer emerged. It was first listed for $16 million on the market by a real estate agent in Miami Beach. After the 5,802-square-foot mansion was put on the market, the price dropped to $15 million.
The house features five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, as well as 113 feet of water frontage. For anyone looking to “catch the spirit of Zen,” the house’s real estate agent says the infinity pool, pier, and open floor plan are all included.
Jason Biggs’ Modern Expanse
This Los Angeles property was previously owned by child actor turned filmmaker Fred Savage, and it was purchased by American Pie star Jason Biggs for $2.249 million in 2007. Biggs, his wife, the novelist Jenny Mollen, and their children lived in the house for five years before deciding to put it up for sale. The house was created in a modern style that was prevalent in the 1960s. It took some time before it was sold.
The residence had a total area of 2,756 square feet, three bedrooms, and four bathrooms, and it was situated in a highly desirable area of real estate, which was directly above the Sunset Strip. An offer of $2.565 million was finally accepted by Orange Is the New Black star, preventing any financial losses on the purchase price.
Calvin Harris’ Hot Home
Calvin Harris, the Scottish DJ, bought a Hollywood Hills bachelor apartment that he described as “zen-inspired.” The house was a tranquil haven, complete with a sparkling pool, large windows that let in plenty of natural light, and lush landscaping. The view of Los Angeles from the house was equally stunning.
Selling a property like that may seem simple, but it is everything. It went on the market in 2016, and took Harris four years to find a buyer for it. When he sold it for $7 million, he earned precisely what he had spent for it. That wasn’t the only source of income he had from real estate. Toward the end of 2020, Harris sold a Los Angeles house for just over $5 million.
Demi Lovato’s Cozy Mansion
Demi Lovato had a difficult time selling her Los Angeles property, which was located in a desirable neighborhood. On the market for $9.5 million, the estate is located just above Laurel Canyon. Four bedrooms and seven bathrooms were included in the 5,500-square-foot house.
Shortly after she put it on the market, Lovato reduced the price to $8.995 million Even with the price cut, the “Still Have Me” singer was only able to sell it for $9.5 million after many price cuts. They were renting it for $39,000 a month before it was put up for sale.
Bruce Willis’ California Home
Bruce Willis, the star of Die Hard, has owned and marketed a number of Beverly Hills mansions over his career. In 1929, the property was finished in a Spanish architectural style. Willis bought it in 2004 for $9 million and has now placed it up for sale after nine years.
Willis didn’t lose money on the sale since the asking price wasn’t as high as it could have been. Far from it, the property sold for $16.5 million despite having eleven baths and eleven bedrooms. A swimming pool, a tennis court, and a fountain were all included in the mansion’s luxurious features.
And Bruce Willis’ New York Mansion
The selling of Bruce Willis’ New York property only served to highlight the actor’s real estate woes even more. In 2019, he placed it up for sale for around $13 million. At $7.66 million, it was finally bought off the market after a year of being on the market. Views of the Croton Reservoir might be had from this New York house near Bedford.
The main house of the mansion had an area of 8,598 square feet, although the property as a whole had four residences. Two garages and a tennis court were just some of the amenities on the 22.6-acre property. The property was listed by Douglas Elliman, a real estate agency.
Gloria Estefan’s Beachy Escape
In 2015, Grammy Award-winning singer Gloria Estefan listed the palatial home she owns on Star Island with an asking price of an audacious $40 million. Emilio, her husband, acquired the property with the intention of giving it to his mother, as evidenced by the presence of two guest homes in the vicinity of the main house.
Unfortunately, his mother passed away, and after a couple of years of renting out the guesthouses, the Estefans made the decision to sell their property and placed it up for sale on the market. The asking price was recently reduced in 2019 to $32 million, but given the lackluster state of the real estate market, it is quite possible that the “Mi Tierra” singer will have to reduce it even further in the near future.
Burt Reynolds’ Design Dream
Burt Reynolds’ Florida estate was the scene of far more events than can be recounted in a few pages. The mansion comprised 12,000 square feet and was located on 3.4 acres of land. It was a part of a much larger property. In addition, there was a pool and a guest house on the property. In spite of these conveniences, it was available for purchase for a whole decade.
After ten years and one sale at foreclosure, he was ultimately able to sell it for a third of that amount, which came to $3.3 million. As can be seen from the images, the home included a highly varied assortment of furnishings, which most certainly did not aid the selling of the house.
Michelle Pfeiffer’s Bay Area Home
Actress Michelle Pfeiffer’s 6,000-square-foot house is expected to sell quickly in the Bay Area’s competitive and profitable real estate market. That did not turn out to be the case, regrettably. In 2018, the home was first put up for sale with a price tag of $29.5 million. After another two years, it was finally sold for $22 million, which was a substantial reduction from the previous price.
The mansion, which was situated around fifty kilometers to the south of San Francisco, did not lack any of its luxuries. It also had a tennis court, a swimming pool, and a barn in the shape of an octagon. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to prevent the Ant-Man star from suffering a loss of $7.5 million in earnings.
Harry Styles’ Los Angeles Home
Harry Styles, a member of the band One Direction as well as a fashion star, purchased this stunning property in Los Angeles in 2016 for around $6.87 million. After living there for a year, Styles decided to put the property back on the market for a price of $8.5 million. He did so in the hope that his celebrity power would assist in the selling of the home.
I’m sorry to say that it did not. Even after lowering the price of the property to $7.5 million, he was not successful in selling it. The Los Angeles home, which had a total of four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a pool, a movie theater, and a chef’s kitchen, among other luxuries, finally changed hands in 2019 for a price of $6 million.
Alex Rodriguez’ Hollywood Hills Home
Among the properties that MLB great Alex Rodriguez has owned is this Hollywood Hills mansion that he acquired from actress Meryl Streep in 2014 for roughly $5 million. In 2019, he decided to sell the house and dropped the asking price many times during the course of the sale.
The house in the Hollywood Hills was originally constructed in the middle of the 1950s, but it had a significant amount of rebuilding and refurbishment in the year 1980. At the time, the architectural style of the mansion was considered experimental, but it now meets the criteria for being classified as mid-century modern. Rod is equipped with a swimming pool, a spa, a wine cellar, an outdoor fireplace, and windows that go all the way to the ceiling.
Elon Musk’s Triangular Home
Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of electric car company Tesla, is also a real estate tycoon, although many people don’t realize it. Multiple properties owned by Musk are sold for profit. Originally, this 3,000-square-foot Los Angeles residence was meant to be one of them. This particular lot was unusual in that it was formed like a triangle.
A saltwater pool, floor-to-ceiling windows, walk-in closets, and a hot tub were also included. The four-bedroom, three-bathroom house that Musk offered for $4.5 million eventually sold for $3.9 million. He paid $3.7 million for it. Therefore, he got a $200,000 profit, which is nothing to the $197 billion-dollar Tesla entrepreneur.
Jennifer Lawrence’s Upper West Side Condo
Actress Jennifer Lawrence is one of today’s most sought-after performers in the acting world. If you’re looking to buy or sell a home, you might want to steer clear of the Silver Linings Playbook star’s acting prowess. In 2016, J-Law paid $15.6 million for this 4,000-square-foot apartment.
Three bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a surprising amount of outdoor space were included in the Upper West Side home. A $3.6 million loss was previously included in the $12 million asking price. In the end, the loss was far more severe than originally thought. In 2019, she agreed to pay just $9.9 for the apartment, a significant reduction from the original sum she paid.
Zayn Malik’s New York Penthouse
Zayn Malik, a member of the band One Direction, acquired this apartment in SoHo in 2018. It was a purchase that cost him $10.69 million at the time. After waiting another year, the singer of “PILLOWTALK” put the penthouse on the market for $10.8 million. Before Malik finally agreed to sell it for $9.45 million after letting it sit on the market for a year, he suffered a loss of more than $1 million.
The apartment in SoHo certainly does not lack any of its enticements. It has over 3,600 square feet of space, four bedrooms, four bathrooms, industrial beams, and exposed brick, and it comes with all of those features.
Bruce Willis’ Ski Home
Once again, Bruce Willis earns a spot on our list with another challenging transaction that he can add to his portfolio of real estate deals. In 2011, the actor known for his role in Pulp Fiction put his ski home in Sun Valley on the market for $15 million. Willis finally successfully sold the cabin for $5.5 million in 2018, after having it listed for sale for the previous seven years.
Willis appeared to rush to unload the property, as evidenced by the fact that he reduced the asking price four times during the first three years that the house was up for sale on the market. After seven years, it was sold for a little more than one-third of the sum being asked for it, suggesting that the actor’s gift may not be in real estate.
Kellyanne Conway’s Home – Washington D.C
Former press secretary Kellyanne Conway has become famous for her work. Despite the fact that she is a potentially divisive figure, it is clear that she is reaping the rewards of her hard work. Together, the political figure and her spouse are estimated to have a net worth of around $40 million.
Their home in Washington, District of Columbia, is located in a prime spot adjacent to both the White House and Rock Creek, which is home to a number of other prominent politicians, including Ivanka Trump and the Obamas. Mooen A. Qureshi, Pakistan’s previous acting prime minister, lived in this magnificent residence. Eight bedrooms, two master bathrooms, a wine cellar, a library, and a big kitchen are all part of the property.
Chris Cuomo’s Southampton Home
Chris Cuomo and his wife recently put their property in Southampton up for sale with an asking price of $2.9 million. The breathtaking property, which is designed in the manner of a cottage, encompasses a total area of 0.6100 acres and includes a swimming pool, four bathrooms, and five bedrooms.
Both Cuomo’s show and his wife Cristina’s health firm Purist used the estate in the Hamptons as a location for filming. Cuomo taped his show remotely from there. The couple paid $1.3 million for the home in 2005, and after it sat on the market for a considerable amount of time, they were able to sell it for $400,000 less than the original asking price.
Cent’s Connecticut Mansion – Farmington, Connecticut
50 Cent had to slash the price of his Farmington, Connecticut estate by 84 percent in order to find a buyer after it sat on the market for more than a decade. The rapper’s estate, which includes a recording studio, a nightclub, game rooms, a hot tub, pools, and many basketball courts, is surely stunning. In 2003, Shady Records rapper Mike Tyson purchased the property for $4.1 million. He put it on the market for $18.5 million four years later.
Dolly Lenz, a real estate broker, told Realtor.com that she believes the property didn’t sell because it was overpriced. According to a premium real estate broker, the rapper’s pricing was “far out of wack.” “Never” has there been a luxury property in Farmington, Connecticut, that sold for “anything near that sum.”
Jeff Bezos’ Historic Washington, D.C. Mansion
Former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos was the world’s wealthiest man at the time of this writing. As a result of these factors, it should come as no surprise that he has accumulated a real estate empire that is fit for a king. The computer tycoon owns multiple floors of a luxurious Manhattan high-rise, but his historic Washington, D.C. mansion may be the most impressive.
As one of New York City’s most exclusive neighborhoods, the city enclave was constructed in 1900 from two separate residences that were linked together by an interconnecting walkway. Additionally, for under $5 million, Bezos purchased the property directly across the street from his own, maintaining his anonymity as a millionaire.
Katie Price’s Mega Mansion
Katie Price, a former glamour model, is currently engaged in a legal struggle about her bankruptcy. She is the owner of a mega-mansion in West Sussex, but she has not yet listed the estate, which includes nine bedrooms, for sale. But when you contemplate the truths that are hiding in that home worth a million dollars, we aren’t startled by any of this at all.
If she does, she will have a hard time selling the property since her friend Charlie Farthing told The Sun that it is a mess, with shattered windows and foul stenches, and that it will be difficult for her to find a buyer. Price reportedly slept on a mattress on the floor in a house that was overrun by animals.
Carol Vorderman’s Somerset Pad
After her magnificent home with three bedrooms and three bathrooms failed to sell, everyone’s favorite mathematician, Carol Vorderman, was forced to reduce the asking price by several hundred thousand dollars. Despite having the assistance of the most prestigious real estate brokers in the country, Knight and Frank, she was unable to sell the home for the asking price of $3.40 million.
Sloblock, the residence that belongs to Vorderman and is located in North Somerset, had an initial market value of $1.5 million. In spite of Vorderman’s needing to reduce her offer, the price increased by more than 100% as a direct result of Carol’s efforts. The residence features a sauna, a bar, and a heated swimming pool.
Jeremy Clarkson’s Cotswolds Retreat
Jeremy Clarkson has called the Cotswolds home for the better part of a decade. People are fast to forget that Jeremy’s Cotswolds trip began some years ago when he purchased a lovely Cotswold-stone mansion for more than £4 million. While his recent antics on Diddly Squat farm have been well-documented, people are prone to forget that his journey began in the Cotswolds.
Clarkson decided to go the extra mile and completely demolish the house by blowing it up rather than transforming it into the home he had envisioned for it in the first place. Naturally, he captured every single second of it on tape. It was Clarkson’s decision whether or not to demolish a perfectly excellent luxury home, and the neighbors weren’t pleased.
Nelly’s St. Louis Fixer Upper
In 2002, Nelly paid a staggering $2.5 million for the home that is located in the city of St. Louis, Missouri. He intended to make a profit by selling the house, which has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a cinema room, a gaming room, and a basketball court. He never followed through with his plans, and as a result, the location was allowed to fall into disrepair.
The reasons for this are unknown. The rapper didn’t give up on the house until 2021 when he eventually put it up for sale for a price that was a fraction of what he paid for it. Despite the fact that it was sold almost quickly and received 52 bids within the first few days, he did not even come close to recovering his initial investment.
Mediterranean Mansion – Beverly Hills, California
The “Palazzo di Amore,” a Mediterranean villa in Beverly Hills, California, has been dubbed the “Palazzo di Amore.” Beverly Hills is one of the wealthiest enclaves in the state of California, and it is home to the nation’s most famous residents. This 43,000-square-foot estate includes 12 bedrooms, 23 bathrooms, and a 10,000-square-foot wine cellar. Incredibly, no high-profile celebrity or MGM boss has purchased the home.
Along with its reflecting pool and gardens, the Palazzo di Amore boasts an entertainment complex and a waterfall. Listed in 2017, it’s had its price cut many times since then. Palazzo di Amore was formerly America’s most costly residence. With the aid of architects Mohamed Hadid, Alberto Pino, and Bob Ray Offenhauser, he purchased and expanded the property for $35 million.
The Aiken Estate – Savannah, Georgia
There are five bedrooms and five bathrooms at the Aiken Estate, which was built in 1855 and is located in Savannah, Georgia. For $1,253,879, you can get your hands on a veranda that looks out over beautiful gardens and a private courtyard. Conrad Aiken, an American author, and poet grew up at the house. William and Anna Aiken were the original owners of the house.
It seemed as if Anna was always attempting to place William in an institution, to the point that he would urge people to “consult [his] lawyer” when they inquired about his well-being. People are reluctant to buy this ancient home because of its terrible past and the fact that the owner-poet never landed a deal with a publisher like John Wiley & Sons.
Granot Loma – Lake Superior, Michigan
An enormous 26,000-square-foot palace built by 400 skilled Scandinavian artisans and builders, Granot Loma, is located off the coast of Lake Superior, Michigan. There are 23 bedrooms, an outbuilding with four flats, a hot tub, and an exclusive marina at this amazing home. As a result, Granot Loma has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. Granny Loma doesn’t imply anything, and it’s just a random name.
In place of the name of the builder’s three children and his wife, a random mashup of letters from their names is used. Granot Loma’s original developer engaged twenty-two architects and brought pine wood from Oregon to Marquette via rail. After the 1950s, the lodge was left to rot. General Motors co-founder Henry Ford originally owned this mansion.
Ellen DeGeneres’ Mansion – Los Angeles, CA
Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia De Rossi are well-known for their success in flipping and reselling high-end residences for a profit. In most cases, they earn a tidy profit on the sale price, but in the instance of one Los Angeles property, they did not. DeGeneres put her Los Angeles homes on the market in 2014.
However, it was easier to sell the larger one than the smaller one. When DeGeneres first put the house on the market, she asked $8 million for it, but the price dropped to $5.85 million, the same sum she paid for it. Homes.com called the apartment “ultra-swanky” because it is located in a LA high-rise. This setback for the NBC talk show presenter and her wife’s luxury property flipping business is shocking. Most of Ellen DeGeneres’ income comes from her career as an entertainer.
The Halston Penthouse – Manhattan, New York
Roy Halston Frowick designed and owned the Halston penthouse. During Halston’s heyday in the ’70s, this Upper East Side property served as a popular party spot for the rich and famous. Few purchasers have even been interested in owning the house, despite the fact that it has a long record of renowned guests. As of 2011, the property has been listed for $38 million. As of this writing, the price has fallen to $24 million.
Known for his clean, minimalist designs, Halston was worth an estimated $21 million. Revlon eventually purchased his firm. His penthouse’s design reflects his preference for a clean, modern aesthetic. It was a popular location for wild after-parties at Studio 54, and the penthouse was no exception. Architect Paul Rudolph contributed even though Halston designed it.
Golden Gate Glamour – San Francisco, California
The Golden Gate residence, located in San Francisco, California, is a great example of old-world grandeur. This is a common phrase used to describe historic mansions in California’s main cities, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and others. “Old Hollywood” is a synonym for “Old World.” For the “Old World” look, architects frequently utilize rich materials, textured surfaces, ornate patterns, and handcrafted decorations.
An example is the Golden Gate Glamour house. Despite being on the market for over two years, this house has not sold. Elevators connect all the rooms and the rooftop deck of this 16,000-square-foot mansion, which features eleven bathrooms and seven bedrooms. It’s safe to say that the home market in San Francisco is doing rather well.
Schweppe Mansion – Lake Forest, Illinois
For the past thirteen years, the Schweppe Mansion, also known as Mayflower Place, has been for sale. It was originally constructed by John G. Shedd, Laura Schweppe’s father, as a wedding present for his daughter and her future husband, Charles Schweppe. Shedd was the CEO of Marshall Field & Co., a major department store business that would subsequently be purchased by Target.
Once erected for his daughter and her new husband, the palace served as a royal residence for Swedish and English monarchs in the 1920s and 30s. Twelve bedrooms, eleven fireplaces, and 425 feet of private beach make up the home. It occupies an area of 5.4 acres.
Nightlife Nest – Farmington, Connecticut
You won’t find a built-in nightclub in any of the other mansions on our list, but this one does. This party-friendly residence, which spans 51,657 square feet, comes complete with a home theater, an indoor pool, and a hot tub, in addition to the intriguing feature that was mentioned before. The mansion once had a price tag of $14.5 million and had nineteen separate bedrooms in addition to a helipad.
Now, the price has decreased by an incredible sixty percent, and it is available for less than six million dollars. There are other mansions in the Farmington, Connecticut area, and this one isn’t the only one that’s having difficulties selling. 50 Cent, a musician signed to Shady Records, also has a house in the same region, which he reportedly had many problems offloading.
Historic Family Home on Pleasant Ave. – Montclair, New Jersey
With a floor area of 3,900 square feet, this home is similarly priced at $10 and for identical reasons. In spite of the fact that both the house and the property it sits on are preserved because of the efforts of the Historic Preservation Commission in Montclair, New Jersey, the land that lies immediately adjacent to it is not. In point of fact, the property close by has already been purchased for the construction of eight more homes.
Not to mention the fact that this house requires a substantial amount of modifications, and the law mandates that any historic features be preserved. According to a recent post on YouTube News, the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) is mulling over whether or not to remove the home’s historical status, which would make it legally permissible to demolish the property.
The “Watcher’s” New Jersey Mansion – New Jersey
This house had a list price of $1.5 million when it was built. It features six bedrooms, four bathrooms, and four fireplaces in addition to its other amenities. There is nothing physically wrong with the property, yet every buyer who has moved in has instantly gone – all because someone has too much time on their hands. There is nothing physically wrong with the house.
Sending anonymous letters and referring to themselves as the state’s “watcher” gives the impression that the individual is a sinister antagonist right out of a Lifetime movie. As a result of the gossip that has circulated about the mysterious observer, no one wants to even take a peek at this lovely Dutch colonial that was constructed in 1905.
Golfer’s Paradise – Brentwood, Tennessee
This home, which can be found in Brentwood, Tennessee, is breathtaking in its splendor. It features the facade of an old-world building, and the interior is tastefully adorned. This magnificent mansion was first put up for sale in 2012 and has experienced a roller coaster of emotions ever since. The current asking price of $3.25 million reflects the difficulty of finding a buyer for the property.
The property has six bedrooms and is situated just off the eighteenth tee box of a golf course in the neighborhood. Contrary to popular belief, the property has not yet been purchased by a well-heeled enthusiast of Titleist. The size of the house is 11,619 square feet, and it features a pool, a home theater, a fitness room, and a wine cellar.
The Priestley House – Canton, Mississippi
It was erected in 1852 by Dr. James Priestly in Canton, Mississippi. The estate was built in the Georgian style and had all the typical features of a traditional Southern mansion, such as a terrace, greenhouse, office, swimming pool, music room, library, and parlor. The renovation was finished, and the property was put on the market for approximately $1 million by the builders.
However well-known this estate may be, it has yet to be sold. There are stories of ghosts, which would come right out of the Netflix program The Haunting of Bly Manor. Since the home was erected, people have claimed hearing voices, seeing shadows, and seeing a lady on the porch, according to Dr. Priestly’s diaries.
Neverland Ranch
William Bone built Zaca Laderas Ranch in 1981 and renamed it Neverland Ranch. The ranch, which sits on 2,700 acres in Los Olivos, California, has been on and off the market for several years. It’s no secret to anyone who’s a follower of pop culture that Michael Jackson used to live on this estate. After his death, however, the property descended into a state of decay.
In 2015, it was largely renovated, but the rides and animals had already been taken from the property. It was once worth more than $100 million, but now it’s only worth $31 million since it’s sitting on the market. The financial woes of Neverland Ranch are nothing new. As recently as 2007, several media publications reported that the estate was in fact being foreclosed.
Mile Road Mansion – Northville, Michigan
8 Mile Road, in particular, is a unique slice of American life where extremes of riches and poverty are sometimes seen right next to one another. The 4,600-square-foot, $9.9 million 8 Mile Road Mansion is one such opulent residence. On 4.55 acres of property, it’s a hidden treasure that can only be reached by taking a long private road. The home has a huge spiral staircase and a stone fireplace in the Chateau style.
The house where Aftermath’s famous musician Eminem grew up and probably refined his early days as a performing artist can be seen if you continue down 8 Mile Road. In the film 8 Mile, based on Eminem’s life, poverty-stricken scenes are shown. 8 Mile Road serves as a dividing line between the rich and the poor in the film. Some parts of 8 Mile are an exception to that norm, as seen by this house.
Pillars Estate – Albion, New York
This magnificent home in New York is 7,200 square feet in size and was designed in the Grecian style when it was finished. It also features a library, a ballroom, six bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a parlor. There are also five fireplaces. There hasn’t been a single interested buyer since the home was put up for sale in 2015 at a price of one million dollars, despite the fact that it is the quintessential example of a mansion.
In 2017, the price was reduced by a startling fifty percent, coming in at $500,000. The house had undergone extensive remodeling, and as a result, it was in move-in-ready condition. Ghosts are the explanation for why there haven’t been any sales lately, and the show The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix is the source of this explanation.
Ann Starrett Mansion – Port Townsend, Washington
This Victorian home, which can be found in Port Townsend, Washington, appears to have been lifted straight from the pages of an old book. It was constructed in 1889, and it is located on the peak of a hill. Additionally, it is colored a pleasant coral red. In addition to its breathtaking panorama of the water in the area, the approximately 5,800-square-foot home features eleven bedrooms, seven baths, and a total of seven bathrooms.
After a limited period of operation, the mansion’s previous use as a boutique hotel was terminated. Not only is no one interested in purchasing it, but nobody even wants to go there. The history of the home reads like an episode of the anthology Into the Dark, which is available on Hulu.
Tri-Mansion – Dallas, Texas
When we refer to it as a “Tri-Mansion,” we imply that it consists of a mansion, an apartment, and a guest house inside the same building. The land parcel of twenty-five acres contains three separate dwelling areas valued at nearly fifty million dollars. The main mansion’s purchaser will receive a discount on purchasing the remaining two residences.
The Tri-Mansion is located within 10 minutes of Dallas, Texas’s central business district. Dallas is home to billionaires such as Amazon investor Mark Cuban, who owns a huge $20.31 million French chateau mansion in Dallas’ wealthy Preston Hollow neighborhood. The city’s cost of living is low for both the rich and the middle class, and the city is also home to people who are in the middle class.
It’s interesting to think about what might happen to these properties and the neighborhoods they are located in. Will they continue to sit vacant for months or years on end? Or could this be the beginning of a trend where people stop buying luxury homes as investments and instead look for more affordable housing? It could be a variety of reasons, but one thing is for sure – if you’re looking to unload an expensive property, you might want to reconsider your asking price. What do you think is behind this trend of expensive mansions sitting unoccupied? Let me know in the comments!
